FUTURE ROUTES TO BE ANNOUNCED
Your activity must align in some way to our mission. The four pillars of Open Streets Macon are health, transportation options, living streets, and civic pride. Please note: no vending is allowed on the route. The best activities are those that creatively represent your business or organization, while involving event participants. For example, a gym might host workouts or fitness challenges. A dance group could give short lessons. A clothing store may put on a fashion show. Last year, a local book shop hosted children’s story time and a library registered participants for library cards! Sometimes activity partners are just individuals who want to share their passion for an activity, such as slacklining or hula hooping. Looking for ideas? Check out this list of activity ideas at the button below!
Activity Partners can be agencies, organizations, businesses, clubs, individuals, government agencies or anyone else that has the capacity to provide an activity on the Open Streets route. Keep in mind that all programs should be barrier-free, accessible, and free.

FAQs for Activity Partner
-
There are a variety of activities that can be provided in a Hub at an Open Streets program. Activities should be free and engaging for participants. Try to keeping your activities simple for ease of set-up and break-down. Don’t underestimate the power of some music, skipping ropes, and hula-hoops.

The emphasis of Open Streets Macon is active, community engagement - activity partners are discouraged from selling goods or providing paid services along the route. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide power to activity partners. If your activity requires electricity we encourage you to reach out to businesses along the route ahead of time to see if you will be able to use their power. If your activity needs to be set up near a specific business because you already have the business owner’s permission to use their power, please note it in the sign-up form.

Each activity hub will have port-a-potties and a water station.
